About twice a year I decide I'm DONE with ceramics. It's usually after a handle cracks when I've dried a mug too fast, or if a glaze is too thick on a freshly fired plate, or when I'm staring at a huge wholesale order of ceramics knowing that I'll never make more than 10 bucks an hour on this stuff. But about 5 minutes later I'm grabbing a fresh bag of clay with a smile on my face. The plate is 9" x 9" x 1.5". It is completely functional but also has holes in the foot to string cord through if you'd rather display it on the wall.
Each piece is wonkily handbuilt. If you are looking for a pristine piece of handmade ceramics then this is not it! It is built securely but with character. It is food and microwave safe, but I would recommend lovingly hand-washing it. Each piece is one of a kind, made out of earthenware clay and painstakingly sgraffito-ed with goofy imagery.
